November Wrap-Up // In Which My Average Rating Continues to Flourish

Happy December, everyone! 🎄❄️

The season of Christmas markets, punch, and a lingering scent of cinnamon in the air is upon us, and even though I’m neck-deep in exams, and buried under the weight of what feels very much like a million course books, and study notes, I have faith that I shall survive December without too many emotional/anxiety scars.

Also, is it too early to count down the days until 2019? Because I … may already be doing that.

  1. Aaaah well my November kicked off with my 18th birthday (1st Nov) and then I’ve spent the rest of it prepping for Jan 2019 and Bookending Winter 2018 and the Tidyathon which are currently running, my reading is still erm…lacking haha. I need to finish a few books before 2019 rolls in so we’ll see what I manage to do.

Hopefully you read some better books this month ❤

    1. Ahhh omg did I forget to congratulate you?? If so, a very belated happy birthday to you, Clo!! I hope it was wonderful! 💝

I’m so in awe how on top of blogging you are, honestly, hard g o a l s. Are there any particular books you’d like to finish before 2019?

Thank you!! I hope December is filled with amazing books for you as well. ❤️❤️

      1. I think you congratulated me on twitter actually hehe, I was formatting blog posts on my birthday whilst watching supernatural. Was great.

phahaha thanks, and well I want to finish the books I’m currently reading so The Hate U Give, Poet X, The Happy Prince & Other Short Stories along with the three library books I have out…tho I honestly may just go and reread my fav series in preparation to read the first book in the spin off.

        1. I swear, studying has robbed me of all my remaining brain cells that are designated for real life. I’m so glad to hear that!! 💛

Ohh I’m really interested in hearing what you’ll think about THUG! And I’ve heard a lot of great things about Poet X, so fingers crossed you’ll enjoy it as well. The first book in the spin-off of …? (Am I missing something here again. 🙈)

          1. haha basically the series I’ll hopefully reread is a 13 book series the spin off series, the first book to that came out earlier this year and I still need to read it so yeah.

Well so far I’m liking both Poet X and THUG so we’ll see!

  2. Beautiful pictures of books here! My November reading was pretty good overall I think, thankful you give the space for readers to chime in – I absolutely loved and was blown away by Picture Us in the Light by Kelly Loy Gilbert, would highly recommend. Glad you’re average rating is flourishing and love the little sense of dark humor with the “emotional/anxiety” bit in the first paragraph of this post.

    1. Thank you so much, Thomas! 💗

I read your review of Picture Us in the Light just now, and I loved it – thank you so much for reminding me of this book, I remember being so excited for it pre-release, especially because of all its rep, but then somehow other books took over my TBR. I’m so happy you loved it!

I hope you’re well, and have a wonderful December. ❄️✨

  3. Thank you so, so much for sharing my post Lily, that means a lot ❤
As always, you've got through a lot of books this month, that's amazing! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on The Dark Vault as a whole and see what you liked / didn't quite like in it, too 🙂
I hope you'll have a wonderful december, take care of yourself! xx

    1. I’ve been so bad at blog hopping since uni started, but yours is genuinely one of the blogs I still always read, and I always have the hardest time picking merely one blog post to feature. ❤️

You might find out my thoughts about The Dark Vault sooner than you think, hehe.

I hope your December is lovely, Marie!! Sending you hugs ❤️❤️

  4. Whoa, you’ve read a lot of books in November! I only managed to finish one digital ARC and 3.5 physical books (I’m still reading The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson). 😆 My only wish is to finish it before the end of the year and I’ll be happy 😂

    1. You can totally do it!! I believe in you ✨ (but also, enjoying your reading is much more important than numbers, so I hope you don’t stress about it!!) I’ve heard great things about everything by Brandon Sanderson, including TFE, so I hope you end up loving it, too! ☺️

      1. I agree! I’ve actually already achieved my goal of 20 books for 2018 and I’m just enjoying everything I’m planning to read. I’ve been busy with personal stuff and TFE is a huge book so I think those are the reasons why it’s taking me so long to finish it. But I only have over a hundred pages left, yay! I hope you’ll pick up one of Sanderson’s books in the future!

  5. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR EXAMS LILY YOURE GOING TO DO AMAZING!! idk how youre managing school and reading and blogging so well, what a queen. fever king looks so good, i havent heard of it before but now im interested!

  6. I need to read The Dark Vault. I’m not expecting a new favourite from it or anything, but I love Schwab and have wanted to read those books for ages now so I need to finally get to it. I hope your December reading has a bit of a better average rating!

    1. I definitely recommend it, if you love her! It’s well-written, and a fairly quick read, despite it being so huge – have you read City of Ghosts? It actually reminded me of, and feels like a more grown-up version of it.

Thank you so much, Ashleigh! I hope you have a lovely month filled with amazing books! 💕

  8. November was very stressful for me, so I hope December is a bit better 😅 I totally feel you, I have so much to do for Uni, but I’m trying to still get into a bit of a festive mood as I refuse to let Uni ruin that 😄 You also reeeally made me want to read The Fever King 😱

    1. Aw, I’m so sad that your November was so stressful as well, Caro. 😭 I’m trying to enjoy ~Christmas time~, but it’s honestly overshadowed by exams and assignments. 🙇🏻‍♀️

Ahh yay, I’m so excited to hear that!! I can’t wait for it to be officially published, and hear your thoughts on it. 😍

  9. My November was pretty disastrous and I’ll write a little summary of how I failed on most of my goals and what I learned lol.. hopefully, December and the end of the year will end with a bang!!😊
Awesome wrap up by the way!

    1. Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that, Prachi! 😔 I’m looking forward to reading about the lessons you learned, though! 🙂

My goal was to read less books, and spend more time on my studies, but I don’t know how well I did, tbh. 😅

Thank you! I hope you have a lovely month, Prachi! 💜

      1. Thanks Lily!! I did learn three things which is mentioned at the end of the post lol 😝
        1. Don’t over plan
        2. It’s OK to read less
        3. Exercising needs to become top priority again

I do hope I end the year with a bang! And I hope you’ll have a break from studies during Christmas and be able to enjoy more!💖😊

        Liked by 1 person

        1. These are all great lessons 👏🏻👏🏻 I need to make exercising more of a priority again as well, because I’m turning into bones and skin. 😭 (If you have any tips, let me know!! 🤗)

Thank you! I actually have another exam right after my Christmas break, but I do think I’ll take one night off at the very least. I hope you have a much less stressful time?? 😌💞

          1. Oh dear, you are on the other end of the spectrum.. I am trying hard to lose that belly fat lol! Just today, my 2.5 year old daughter commented about how big my tummy was and wondered aloud what I had hidden in there 🙄 I suck at giving exercising tips since I have been failing at it all these months. But the one thing I do know is that find which exercise you enjoy and can keep up with and also a time when you are least likely to procrastinate exercising – wise words said by people who exercise regularly 😉

Yeah, I think December will be a more fun month for me and less stressful. Work pressure usually slows down during the last week anyway, so I’m looking forward to some vacation days and parties!
