Down The TBR Hole #1 // Time to Let Go

There comes a time in every book lovers’ life, when they realize—or, in my case it is rather admit and accept, because the realization dawned on me much sooner than I was consciously willing to acknowledge—that they will never read all the books they want to read, and certainly not all the books they have added to their TBR.

I thought it was high time I started cleansing mine of books I most likely will never get around to reading (and probably won’t even miss [and this is 100% me, trying to soothe my anxiety-ridden heart, because I might??])—and here is where Lia‘s great tag comes into play:

Unique Blogger Award - Rules
  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ‘ascending date added’.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 [or even more, if you’re feeling adventurous]) books & read the synopses
  • Decide: keep it, or should it go?

I’m going to move the books I decide should go from my to-read to my lost-interest shelf, and seeing as I’m the worst at making decisions in life, any help at all is very much appreciated! I’m taking on 15 books for my first time, because my current number is way, way too high.

  1. Noo you can’t keep The Fellowship Of The Ring and then trash The Hobbit! 😉 I Actually haven’t read any of them but I plan to and I am almost certain I will love them. So I think The Hobbit should be put back on you tbr 😀

    1. Ahh Nicoline!! You’re the first one to tell me I’ve made a mistake ahah. 😀

I’ll definitely put The Hobbit back on my TBR, if I enjoy The Fellowship Of the Ring! I just want to at least limit my TBR to first books in a series for now. And please let me know when you get around to reading any of these books, I’d love to hear your opinion! 🙂

      I hope you’re having a great day! 🌻💛

  2. OKOKOKOK LET’S TALK NEVER LET ME GO:
SO im reading this for english lit a level and totally say don’t ditch it!!!!!! 1000% support on that. it’s so hard to read BUT interesting as if you analyse it, which luckily i am doing. AAnd if you look really closely at what the author does it’s mindblowing stuff!! I’ve honestly never found a more chilling and fucked-up book. honestly shook to the core over this book!!!!

this is a great post and i seriously need to do this too!!

    1. Ahhh that’s so great to hear!! I spent so much time going back and forth on whether I should toss it? But I’m so glad I kept it, and I’m so happy you’re enjoying it, Lu! 💗 I can’t wait to get to it, hopefully soon.

YES 12/10 recommend! It feels so good to let go of books, some of which I just know I won’t get around to reading.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day, Lu! I’VE MISSED YOU.

  3. Lord of the Rings is still on my tbr list. As a kid, my dad use to read the lord of the rings books to me, but I have yet to read them as an adult. I ticked off the Hobbit last year, so I call that a win, but the stubborn part of me is determined to read the lord of the rings. I need to purge my tbr list though.
