Happy Tuesday &
Welcome to my first Top Ten Tuesday post!
I’ve been meaning to take part in a TTT it for a while now, but somehow never got around to it?
This week’s topic is all about the longest books we’ve read in our reading careers so far (yes, reading books is a career, and we get paid in the form of happiness, joy, pain, heartbreak, and a multitude of other emotions), and I’m so excited to share mine with you!
I’m only including one book per series, because otherwise, 50% of this list would probably consist of Harry Potter.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is a weekly meme now organized by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
10. Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead
590+ pages
9. Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta
600+ pages
8. The Secret History by Donna Tartt
620+ pages
7. Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1) by Jay Kristoff
640+ pages
6. Some Kind of Perfect (Calloway Sisters, #4.5) by Krista & Becca Ritchie
660+ pages
5. Gemina (Illuminae, #3) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
680+ pages
4. A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
730+ pages
3. Tintentod (Tintenwelt, #3) by Cornelia Funke
760+ pages
2. Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer
830+ pages
1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling
900+ pages
Have you read any of these books?
Do you see any of your favorites on this list?

Winter is really a loooong book and i’ve been seeing it in everyone’s list. I didn’t post for this meme this week though. 🙂 🙂

It’s one of the few books I audiobooked! I can only imagine how intimidating it looks as a hardcover. 😄 Have you read it? 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, I’ve read it and I own the paperback. It’s the longest/thickest in the series and the most expensive too, haha.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ahh did you like it? And did you read the novellas, too? 🤓

I absolutely didn’t notice how long Winter is… I only remember having a blast with the story! I also absolutely adored The Secret History and actually wished there were more pages for me to read. ❤

I listened to the audiobook, and I think it was 24 hours long? 🙉 It was fun, though, definitely!
I really enjoyed Donna Tartt’s writing in The Secret History, I’m glad you loved it! ☺️ Have you read any of Donna Tartt’s other books?

Yes, I’ve read all her other books but The Secret History is my fav ❤ The Goldfinch comes a close second, though.

Yay, I’m so happy to hear that! I can’t wait to read The Goldfinch, then. 🙂

Long book scares me. Order of the Phoenix is one of the longest of mine too, and it really delayed my reread up to 3 months because I keep putting off reading this book! ;D
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ahh I relate!! I mostly read books on my e-reader, so it’s a Tiny little bit less scary for me, but I still get intimidated. 🙈
Haha, aww. OOTP is my favorite, and I’ve read the HP series a lot of times, so I’m a bit less scared, but when it comes to new books … 😱

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix seems to be on everyone’s list today!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

I’ve noticed that as well! I guess it’s just one of those books almost everyone has read, regardless of their preferred genre. 😄
Thanks for leaving a comment! ☺️ I’ll go check our your post right now. 💛

Oh wow, I completely forgot Order of the Phoenix was really that long?? It definitely didn’t feel 900 page-ish when I read it for the first time! 😀 Same with Froi of the Exiles!!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think it’s because I shelved the German editions from when I read it for the first time, and German translations always tend to be longer. 😄
Ahh I hardly ever meet someone who’s read Froi of the Exiles, did you like it?? 💞

I LOVE the Lumatere books!!!! Though I still haven’t read the last one for some reason! I was kind of skeptical about Melina Marchetta pulling off a fantasy series, but now I’m 100% convinced she can write in any genre. Her characters are just…*SWOON* 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
I haven’t finished the series, either! I really liked the first book, but my interest waned slowly, as I continued with the next books. 🙈
Melina Marchetta is such a fantastic writer! Have you read Saving Francesca? It’s my absolute favorite book of hers. 😍

I haven’t read it but oooh, it’s your favourite, you say? Now I *have* to check it out sometime! 😀

Haha, it’s a tome! It’s quite fun, though, so I finished it really quickly, too, maybe that’s why it doesn’t appear all that long to you. 😄 Did you read the graphic novels (sequels?) too? x

I still can’t believe Winter was over 800 pages. It didn’t feel like that long of a book haha. I need to read Froi of the Exiles. I LOVE Finnikin of the Rock, but for some reason I’ve just not been in the mood to continue with the series.

Haha, same! And OOTP is a relatively quick read for me, as well. 😀
I’m in the same position! I really liked the first book, but lost interest somewhere during the second one, and then my interest in the series never came back.

A Song of Ice and Fire has some of the longest books I’ve read. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was long, but it didn’t feel as long as ASOIAF. Harry Potter went by quickly, but I almost had to drag myself through giant chunks of ASOIAF.

The only book I’ve read on this list is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but oh did I love it! I would venture to say it’s one of my favorites (if not my favorite) in the series (and for sure my favorite movie adaptation). I started the Lunar Chronicles series but never read past Scarlet, so I’ll have to finish them up. Lovely post!

Yes, long books are trés scary!! I relate so much, especially because I hate DNFing books. But also, if I love a book, it’s always so great to know that there’s so much of it??
I 100% feel the same way, I’ve been craving fluffy and light-hearted books with cute friendships or OTPs to root for. But I definitely recommend The Secret History, it’s beautifully written! ❤
