WWW Wednesday #3 // Sprinkles of Dreams

WWW Wednesday #3 // To All The Books I’ve Loved Before

Happy Wednesday, everyone! 🌸

I’m currently very much overwhelmed with uni, and organizing my timetable, as well as fighting anxiety attacks and the urge to crawl under my bed sheets and curl up into a ball, whenever I think of all my exam dates that are way too closely scheduled, but I wanted to keep you updated on my reading, and participating in Sam‘s weekly WWW Wednesday meme is just the perfect way to do that.

(I also tweet about the books I read now! You can find me @sprnklsofdreams💗)

bannerCurrently Reading

I’m currently reading two books for the O.W.L.s read-a-thon I joined this month; both of these books are re-reads, Strange the Dreamer & The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue.

I’m still in awe of Laini Taylor’s writing, which is absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous, and Monty and Percy are making me turn into my most effervescent self. I can’t repeat myself often enough; Percy is such precious and wonderful soul, and deserves the whole world.

bannerRecently Read

I read The Young Elites for the third time, and I have absolutely No Regrets. And I also read a certain book by a certain favorite author of mine, and I was not disappointed, despite my sky-high expectations?? (My bookish) life is good at the moment.

bannerWhat Will I Read Next?

Who knows if I’ll actually, literally read these books next, but I’m definitely very, very excited about all of them, and will get to them this month. I can’t wait to read Mirage especially, even though my interest in it has been fluctuating. If you’ve read it, I’d love to hear your opinion on it!blue-watercolor-wash-texture-5letschat!-2

Are any of these books on your TBR?
What have you been reading?
(How apparent is it that I adore Marie Lu?)

I hope this week is being kind to you all! 💗

  1. Ahh good luck with uni and your classes, Lily!! You got this; I believe in you. 💞 I’m so glad you’re enjoying your reread of The Gentleman’s Guide; I love Monty & Percy too. 😍 As for Marie Lu’s books, I’ve only read Warcross by her (and I’m so excited for Wildcard!) and I really need to read her other books as well.

I read two entire books last weekend, which I’m pretty happy about, haha. 😊 They were The Summer of Us by Cecilia Vinesse and Sometime After Midnight by L. Philips (both contemporaries!) and I enjoyed both of them so much. I also finished The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh today, which was also a wonderful (fantasy) read. I’m looking forward to starting the second book, The Rose and the Dagger, next. 😍

    1. Thank you so, so much, Dezzy! I hope you’ve been doing well in regards to school/studying and RL in general! 💗

I was actually disappointed by Warcross (oops), but I’m really happy you liked it & I’m still very excited for the sequel as well! And YES, please read her other books, they are so good!!

Ohh I’m so happy to hear that you’ve been reading amazing books! I haven’t heard of either of these contemporaries, but now I’ll have to check them out. 🙂

I hope you have the best time with the sequel as well! 😊💫

  3. I finished Sadie few days ago and it was so good! I no longer read YA books but this one was so worthy the hype.
Mirage is all over my Goodreads feed but I dont like the cover at all so i think i’ll pass this one 😀 (yes, i am so superficial).

  4. Ohhh Mirage! I hope you’ll enjoy it, I will be looking forward to your thoughts about it 🙂 I had a great time reading it, though it felt a bit slow-paced and confusing at the beginning for me, the characters and their relationships really won me over ❤ hope you'll love it 🙂 happy reading! 🙂

    1. I totally agree with you on how it’s a bit slow-paced and confusing in the beginning. I’m currently about one third into the book, and I’m still unsure of how I feel about it? I do like the writing, though, and the format is so lovely.

Thank you so much! I hope whatever you’re currently reading is absolutely amazing! 😊💓

          1. Wildcard was supposed to arrive on Friday but.. nope! Hopefully on Monday..
Exactly! I often wonder what the point is in pre-ordering but on the other hand.. It does help authors to have their pre-order numbers up so I’m trying to keep that in mind, hah. 🙂

  6. My experience with Gentleman’s Guide was basically me going “Damn it, Monty!” and “Aww, Percy” every other page. 😂 And I keep telling myself I will get to Strange the Dreamer before the end of the year and it hasn’t happened yet, but I can’t wait to experience Laini Taylor’s writing!

  7. I just read The Young Elite for the first time AND I ADORED IT. I was pleasantly surprised about it because Marie Lu’s other books have been solid 3 stars, but I LOVED THE YOUNG ELITES SO MUCH MORE!!!! I CANNOT wait to start reading The Rose Society! Anyways, thanks for a lovely post 🙂

    1. YES IT’S SO AMAZING AHHH. Who is your favorite character? And what do you think of Adelina??

I actually love The Rose Society even more, so I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!! ❤

Thank you (!!) for this lovely message I woke up to this morning, Kat! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. 🌻

      1. SO, Adelina is AWESOME. So unlike many of the other characters we see in YA Fantasy, which let’s face it, is not super great with diversity at the moment. She’s probably my favorite character as of right now. Who’s yours?

And The Rose Society is better? Man, I’m glad to hear that it doesn’t fall prey to the sequel syndrome. SO STOKED TO READ IT!!!!

        And no problem 🙂 🙂

        1. YES. She’s such a brilliantly crafted character, and definitely one of my all-time favorite ones, ever! I really love Magiano, I think he’s my favorite in this series, and I also think Teren is such a great character, even though he’s not one I “like”. Both of them play a pretty important role in the second book.

I only finished re-reading The Rose Society tonight, and I love it even more than I did previously (and I didn’t think that was possible??). I hope you get around to reading it soon & please feel free to DM me when you do! ❤
