Befitting the very topic of this blog post, I have a small announcement to make!
After months of deliberation (if you’re asking yourselves if I’m exaggerating … I am, in fact, not), I finally decided to officially become a bookstagrammer!! 📷 You can find me here! It’s been months, but I’m still sad that “sprinklesofdreams” was already taken, and I had to settle for “sprinklesofdreamsx“.
I’m not sure how active I’ll be yet, because my blog is still my number one priority, but having recently re-discovered my passion and love of taking pictures on my trip to London*, I thought that becoming active on Instagram would make for a great creative outlet.
*If you’d like to see a blog post about my trip (featuring photographs I took, of course!!), let me know in the comments! ❤
Here’s the first picture I posted earlier tonight (which Alice Oseman liked!! AHHH).
Now, onto the tag part. I always enjoy writing posts in which I can talk about things I love, which is why this tag in particular is perfection in my eyes, because all I basically do is scream about blogs and people I adore. Plus, I’m already turning into a heart eyes emoji, thinking about how this blog post will look, thanks to everyone’s gorgeous headers.
Kay @ Hammock of Books listed my blog in her post as the one with a design she loves, and I’m so, so honored!! She wrote such lovely things about it, in addition to that, and I’m just really touched. :’)
As you all know, I’m the worst at having to pick one absolute favorite when it comes to books, and that indecisiveness applies to everything else in my life, so please forgive me for picking two bloggers for one category?
Instagram – A Blog with a Design You Love
Olivia is one of my favorite bloggers, and best friends in the blogosphere, and I just adore everything about her blog’s aesthetic, from the fonts she uses, to the color schemes, and the flowery graphics, which look absolutely stunning in combination.
She also shares my love of Hamilton and Harry Potter (i. a.), and the GIFs and references in her blog posts always light up my heart. I’m not exaggerating this time.
In celebration of her two year blogiversary, she’s hosting a giveaway on her blog, so be sure to congratulate her, and maybe try your luck?
Facebook – A Blog with a Friendly Blogger
Even to a relatively new book blogger like me, it very quickly became very apparent how friendly, warm, and welcoming everyone in the book blogging community is. But two people in particular were especially kind to me.
One of the first people who reached out to me was Marie. I’m one hundred percent certain that 99.9% of the book blogging community knows (of) her, and loves her. Not only is she one of the most wonderful and supportive people I’ve met; her kind words, and sweet comments always brighten my day, and I always look forward to reading her blog posts.
Mel is a total sweetheart, and there really is no better way to describe her.
In a nutshell, everything about her makes me think of this emoji: 💖. I’m so thankful that she reached out to me when I first started blogging, because I’m a shy lil(y) bean [look at me, recycling my puns] and I would have never had the courage to message her, or even comment on her blog (and draw her attention to me).
It’s also her birthday soon, so please head over to her blog, and send some love her way!
Twitter – A Blogger Who Could Write 140 Characters and You Would Still Love Them
Once upon a time, Lily stumbled upon a review, and it changed her life.
If there were only one person in the entire book community I could pick, whose reviews I was allowed to read, it would be Em‘s. They are unique, and gorgeous, and her prose never fails to draw forth vivid pictures in my mind. Literally everything she writes is absolutely breathtaking, and I will never stop
drooling over admiring her, because no one else strings words together like she does.
Give her 140 characters, and she’ll use half of them to create an entire world, brimming with color, and emotions, complete with gorgeous imagery, and characters you’ll fall in love with. In other words; she’ll conjure up a dream so all-encompassing you won’t ever want to wake up.
Albeit being a self-proclaimed mango queen, I rather think of, and picture May as a deer friend of mine in my mind—yes, I spelled it like this on purpose, for reasons I’m not at liberty to disclose—but an undeniable fact is that she’s a Force in the book community; she has Things to say, an Opinion to state, and she isn’t afraid to do so, boldly, and self-assuredly.
Also, she’s a master at being snarky, and throwing shade (at me, quite often), and if I ever find myself re-joining the Twitterverse, hers would be the first account I would follow.
YouTube – A Blog that Keeps You Entertained
Another one of my favorite people in the blogosphere, Malanie is a fangirl extraordinaire, and never fails to spark my excitement with her screaming about ships, soft boys, and smol characters in the emotive shape of figurative marshmallows-roasted-over-a-campsite-fire.
What even is Lily talking about, you ask?
Well, I have only an inkling of an idea myself, because somewhere along our fangirling, I started speaking and thinking in metaphors, and I am unable to refrain from doing so—that’s what talking with her inspires in me.
Snapchat – A Blogger whose Updates You Can’t Wait for
Will she write a blog post this week? Won’t she? Will she leave me hanging for months, only to return, the prodigal soul sister, with three blog posts, back to back?
I’m talking about the ever-opinionated, witty, and absolutely stunning (in every imaginable way, and on every conceivable level) Emma, of course. Part of her blog’s appeal might be how you never know when she’ll post something, and figuratively sweep you off your feet, making you fall head over heels for her thoughts, romantic-stylezzz (this is a very valid interjection, if you know her [like I do]).
Whatever it is, she could give me her grocery list, and I would bet my love of always sharing the same unpopular opinions with her on the fact that it’s filled with funny remarks. In any case, I’d have a fantastic time perusing it, no doubt no doubt no doubt.
Tumblr – A blog that is Very Diverse and Has Variety
Thomas‘ blog is the actual first (!!!) one I ever actively “followed”, long before I started blogging myself, and long before I even knew about the book blogging community, or Goodreads, and long, long before I became the avid reader I am today.
His posts are always enlightening, thought-provoking, and wonderfully written, and his voice (I promise, this is not a pun) always shines through as unflinchingly honest. I may repeat myself when saying this, but I’m constantly rendered speechless at how eloquently he manages to put his feelings and thoughts into words, and formulate his opinion on various aspects of life and society.
I genuinely feel like a better person for having read them.
I tag: everyone I nominated in this post!
Which blogs would you have nominated? 💗
