The Sunshine Blogger Award // Sprinkles of Dreams

The Sunshine Blogger Award 🎗 Pt. 1 // About Me & My Teenage Self

I’m back with another Award post!!

I’ve been putting off writing this blog post for so long, that I got nominated for it in the meantime, so I decided to answer five instead of ten questions from each nomination, and split this post into two (or maybe three) parts. Because who has the patience to read 50 questions all at once?? No one, that’s who.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Thank you so much, Lotte @ The Reading Hobbit, Belle @ Belle Can Read, and Malanie @ Malanie Loves Fiction, Hamad @ The Book Prescription, and Sissi @ The Book World for nominating me for this award!

You are the best best best, and I’m so touched that all of you nominated me! 💜

Unique Blogger Award - My Answers

Lotte’s questions

01. What do you use for a book mark? Or do you just remember the pages?
(Pictures are appreciated)

I always remember the pages! I actually answered this question in my 20 Questions Book Tag post in-between being nominated, and publishing this one.

As for pictures—I have a magnetic Harry Potter bookmark, which I never use (and as a result couldn’t find, sorry! 😔), because I’m too scared that it’ll leave streaks on my book pages.

02. Favorite flower?

I feel like I should say lilies, but … I don’t really have one?

And I know that there’s this assumption that all girls love to receive flowers, and I do find the sentiment lovely, but am I the only one who actually doesn’t enjoy receiving them all that much, because my heart always breaks, when they start to wilt?

Especially roses.

giphyI’d love to come across a rose that wilts as slowly as the one in Beauty and the Beast, especially given the fact that it was kept in a bell jar.

03. What was your favorite song/band/artist as a teenager?

I loved Atomic Kitten as a teenager! I still remember all the lyrics to their songs, because I used to sing along to them, and I learned their dance choreographies as well, I was such a fangirl. 💃🏻🎤

Anyone remember Whole Again, If You Come to Me, Last Goodbye, or It’s Ok!?

04. Rainy days or sunny days?

Sunny days! Sunshine always lifts my mood, and I find that a sunny day makes all my troubles seem less troublesome.

05. What are the times you like to read in a day?

Whenever I find the time. I especially love to read in bed, before going to sleep—it also helps me fall asleep more quickly, and I’m someone who desperately needs every extra minute of sleep I can get.

Belle’s questions

01. How long have you been blogging?

Almost seven weeks! I can’t believe it, to be honest, because I still feel like such a newbie to blogging (because I am), and seven weeks sounds like such a long time to me.

02. What type of posts are your favorite to make?

Book recommendation posts & wrap-up posts. I recently published my first discussion post as well, though, and I had so much fun writing it, as well! And I will always love writing reviews, because they are what made me consider starting a blog in the first place, so …

I love them all. :’)

03. What are you currently reading?

Vicious by V.E. Schwab—and if you’ve read the book already; how genius is this cover?

04. If you had round-trip ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’d love to re-visit Paris, New York, and Taiwan, but I’d also love to finally visit London, Sydney, Hongkong, or Seoul … the list is endless, really.

05. Favorite quote? 😏

(Is this where I get psycho-analyzed? 😛)

I don’t have one absolute favorite quote, but this one is so beautiful—and if you know where it’s from without looking it up, you’re pretty amazing, and get 1000 cool points from me!:

Sometimes you read a book so special that you want to carry it around with you for months after you’ve finished just to stay near it.

    1. Whole Again is so good! And wow, I honestly didn’t expect anyone to know them, haha. I only just found out that they reunited, but without Jenny. 😔

It is!! It’s one of the many beautiful quotes from The Book Thief. :’)

  1. I agree with you on the flower sentiment! Personally, I feel like it’s really cool to receive flowers because of the thoughts and feelings behind them, but I don’t really like flowers themselves for the aesthetic. (I also don’t understand how people think that flowers smell good?? They smell like plants?) But besides my flower rant, loved this post ❤

    1. Says Ju, meanwhile, she is smelling flowers in her pfp. 😉

But yes, exactly! I always see people smelling flowers (in movies and TV shows as well), and I’m honestly baffled. I do love them for their aesthetic, though!

Thank youu, your comments are always so lovely sndjfndjsf; 💓!!

  2. Thank you for tagging me!!! I also have some of those Harry Potter magnetic bookmarks and I’ve only used them on a few books but I always forget about them.

My favorite music as a teenager was pop music and especially the Jonas Brothers haha. I still love them honestly

  3. You may be a newbie blogger but you’re already so respected and loved in the community ❤ I can tell by how many people nominated you for this award ❤ Sydney is on my world travel short list too – I might pick that one (because I'm assuming these tickets are free and 1st class, right?) 😀

    1. Aww thanks, Marie! 💕

I think it’s mostly just something I got used to doing. 🙂 I don’t know if Sum 41 counts as Punk, but I listened to them non-stop at some point as well, haha.

And ahhh yes please read The Book Thief! It’s so beautiful (but also heartbreaking, just as a warning). ❤

  4. Loved your answers, especially about flowers because #same (my friend and her mum just send each other pictures of flowers they see out and about when they want to “give” each other flowers), and the quote you chose <333333 That book and its unique narrative style and its damn haunting last line and e v e r y t h i n g about it!!

I've been blogging 2 1/2 months? Lordy loo. I listened to Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park as a teen (still do!). They were the first bands whose lyrics I learned.

Small things that brighten my day // sniffing books, snugs with my kitkat Jasper (she's a sweet lazy lump of a cat), perfectly hot cups of tea or coffee, compliments on my tattoos (something I chose to do to myself lol), seeing kids excited about being at the library ❤ How about you? What makes your day a little bit better? 🙂

    1. Thanks, Cade, I’m so glad you like them! 🙂

Aww that’s super cute & yes, it’s such a beautiful and book all-around, definitely one of my all-time favorites. :’) I only know those bands from listening to the radio sometimes, haha.

I love your list of things that make you happy! Mine would definitely be snuggling with a cute cat or Maltipoo as well. As for the other things … off the top of my head—spending quality time with my favorite people, music, OTPs, (re-)reading or (re-)watching books or movies, or certain scenes I love, good food, chocolate (!), and sunshine. 💛✨

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! ❤

  5. 7 weeks is great! I am sure you will stick with it for much longer and you won’t believe how fast time is going to pass 😉
The final quote you chose was really beautiful and so relatable. And I definitely need to read Vicious as well, I only heard great things about it.

    1. Thanks, Kat! 🙂

I’m honestly already in disbelief, haha. I feel so old when I say that, but ahh time passes too quickly. 👵🏻

I love the book it’s from, The Book Thief is just one of my all-time favorites. And I think you’d really enjoy Vicious! Everyone I know loves it.

              1. At this point, I don’t even miss it and also tend to not enjoy it as much. Obviously, if a book was originally published in German, I am not going to go around looking for a translated version, but I think we don’t have much of a YA scene here and no cool author events. I might think differently if that were a thing haha

  9. I adore your answers, Lily! And your blog is such a sweet ray of light. ❤ ❤
And I'm totally with you on getting flowers! I always tell people I'd rather receive potted plants as gifts rather than bouquets, because then you get the pleasure of watching them grow rather than wilt. 🙂

And oof you ask some hard-hitting questions. I can't wait to get to them!
