The Hogwarts Tag

The Hogwarts Tag // On Boggarts, Detentions, and an Indecisive Sorting Hat

I grew up reading Harry Potter, and spent a considerable amount of my childhood immersed in the Wizarding World, so I had a lot of fun answering these questions.

I was tagged by my fellow Ravenclaw, the lovely Marianna @ Marianna’s Corner. She has great answers to these questions, so you should definitely head over to her blog to read them!

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Are you a Pure Blood or a Half-Blood?

As evidenced by this & this test*, I’m a Half-Blood.

*I obviously took this tag very seriously, and all my answers are the result of diligently implemented research.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Which wand chose me?

Pottermore Wand

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Did you take a cat, owl or toad with you?

I had a tough time deciding between an owl and a cat (I always thought I’d 100% choose an owl, to be honest?), but in the end, I brought a cat with me. 🐱

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Where did the Sorting Hat put you?

It deliberated for a long time, but ultimately decided to put me in Ravenclaw, after ruling out Hufflepuff (I’m the least patient person on earth!), and deciding against Slytherin.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What House did you want to be placed in?

Ravenclaw. 🦅💙 But I’m a proud Slytherclaw, with the heart of a Hufflepuff.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What lessons are your favourite and least favourite?

I love Charms and Transfiguration, but also Defense Against the Dark Arts, taught by Remus Lupin. (He’s the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher there ever was, and I will fight everyone who disagrees with me on this!! But only with words, because I’m petite and don’t have a whole lot of upper body strength.Arithmancy is pretty amazing, as well.

My least favorite lesson is Potions with Snape (for obvious reasons), closely followed by Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid (sorry, Hagrid!!) and History of Magic (but I guess students need to catch up on sleep sometime, so it’s all good).

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What is your Patronus?

A Phoenix.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What does your Boggart look like?

A Dementor. I genuinely can’t think of anything that’s more harrowing than having to relive your worst memories, and have all your happiness and hope sucked out of you.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Do you partake in any magical hobbies or school sports?

Does practicing my spell work and reading books on magic count as magical hobbies?

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
Where would you spend your spare time?

In the castle, exploring its many secret nooks and crannies with the Marauder’s Map’s assistence, and of course, the library.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What would you most likely get detention for?

I’ve never gotten detention in my life, but I did get admonished many, many times for helping out several classmates in exams.

Harry Potter Elder Wand Magic
What career do you want after graduating Hogwarts?

This question, same as in real life, is stressing me out severely, so … no comment. :’)

  1. Lily, I absolutely loved reading this post! I may have to do it at some point. 😉 I love all things Harry Potter and Hogwarts…and I’d have to agree with you, Lupin was the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Who could argue with that?? XD

Ooh, the comment challenge looks so fun, I’ll go check it out right away!

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Olivia! Reading this warmed my heart & please consider yourself tagged as well! 💗

YES thank you!! I always read about Snape being “misunderstood” and “deserving more praise”, but rarely see Lupin appreciated (even amongst the Marauders).

I hope you can join us for the challenge next month! ☺️🌷

  2. Every sorting hat quiz I’ve every taken has put me in Gryffindor which has always confused me since I’ve always self-identified as a Ravenclaw… 😀 Who knows, maybe I have a little Hermione in me??

Also, I’m doing the comment challenge for June as well! I’m going to double challenge myself to give you 10 comments too ❤

    1. I feel like a lot of quizzes don’t actually take the personality traits that represent each House into account very well? I know that the new Pottermore Sorting Ceremony has some very … peculiar questions.

And I whole-heartedly believe that we all have a little Hermione in us, if only because of our love of books! ❤️

Ahh that’s so sweet of you, Becky! I’m adding you as my partner as well! 💞

      1. It’s probably because I said the best HP character was Hermione for each one. Oh well! Being a Muggle-born witch (hopefully that’s what it meant, not just a Muggle) is pretty good. Better than a squib.
